they all make dope music as separate acts but to me their best album barely had 9th on it.

I think its wack how nikkas act like Pooh was just garbage...that nikka got the best of phonte on quite a few tracks..

Pooh is good, but Phonte and 9th made the group. No hate, thats just real. You couldve stuck another rapper in his place and it wouldve been the same thing. Phonte is such a talented and creative artist...but I think the real reason they split was because 9th and Phonte had too many differences....then doing Little Brother albums after that wasnt as profitable as Phonte doing him and his F.E. projects. That being said, Pooh is probably better off on his own so people can recognize him and he wont get that overshine like in LB.

You know back on that old website when Sleepers originally came out I said the same thing. Years later I don't think its better than Connected and damn sure isn't better than Charity Starts at home.

Phonte is basically one of the best rappers in the game, and at one point 9th was a great producer. Pooh was always the third man out IMO, no hate. He's not a bad rapper, he's just a basic rapper: doesn't say much, rarely has memorable lines, doesn't switch up the flow much, etc.

I think he improved a lot from their first album to the second, but still he never stuck out to me as a rapper. He's a guy I'd be fine hearing a guest verse from, not a full project.

It's not surprising that 9th has found a lot of success post-LB (even though I think most of his beats are very repetitive/use the same drums) and Phonte has been successful too, whereas Pooh is just...there.

when it was little brother people only knew phonte from the foreign exchange stuff and 9th from producing other cats even though pooh is a good rapper but just people just saw him as a run-of-the-mill rapper and never really paid attention
