This street/gang culture has to go but there’s damn near no way to remove it. It’s just a full scale hunger games with a segment of Black people attracted to destructive lifestyles. It’s weird reading comments from people, nor involved, rooting for these rapper/gangs like some sporting event.

This is only possible in the context of a dehumanization of a group of people. People are picking sides and then hoping people from one side murders people from the other. They do not see either side as human beings

I don’t like how y’all keep trying to pigeon horn this situation into a black men this, black men that. Most black people aren’t making songs celebrating killing their opps and being in fukkery. This is 100% a gang/drill issue. Ya, that scene is dominated by black men, but they don’t speak for or represent most of us. You glamorize and live that life, these are the consequences and the internet will be there to remind you of it because that’s the audience you spoke to.

You can remove it, but it asks a LOT of political will. You need the strength of the entire state apparatus to do it: you need to change many LAWS, you need to BAN a lot of things, you need to send a lof of people to JAIL, you need to funnel a lot of MONEY into impoverished black communities. And I don't see any US president doing all that heavy lifting for the sake of black people.

I hope I'm wrong tho.

social media is the devil. I bet most if these retaliations wouldn’t happen if these dumbass rappers and bangers didn’t worry about the people watching and commenting on social media.
