most of those Classic west coast albums had pro guitar players,bass players,keyboard players.even the NWA and Too Short albums had pro drummers.i always read the credits back then to see how the beats where made.reading the credits wile listening to the albums was one of my fav pass times back then.

the bay sucks. It's always some played out hyphy beat. Folks are still on that crap. That or the "west coast" sound, which I hate.

Really, beats are just some 808 kick and snare with a synth line at about 100bpm, and that's every bay song.

you can stereotype or fit any regions mix in the box and just cast them off, but is it true....nope.

Sadly for you Hiero, Main Attrakionz, The Coup, Zion I and other rappers are all bay area rappers who work in the bay yet make music that is not hyphy.
