Rappers need to stop putting out mixtapes and focus more on albums

excellent arguments from both sides of the fence.. Personally I think ESTABLISHED artists should stay away from it. Rick Ross, Jeezy etc... Now if you Migos or somebody, hey do you. You aint gonna sell anyway..lol

But it puzzles me how Labels let them do this nowadays. I mean its got to be some kind of kickback for them. I need to research it. Back in the day, you couldnt get a clearance from a label to do shyt like that.

And why is this only in rap music and sometimes R&B? Other genres seem to thrive on the regular model of releasing music.

ITS HELLA HARD TO BUY AN ALBUM THESE DAYS WHEN YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET THE LEAKED VERSION REAL QUICK AND 9/10 THE MIXTAPE THAT CAME OUT BEFORE IT WAS PROLLY COLDER ANYWAY. BUT IF YOU fukk WITH THE ARTIST, THE RIGHT THING TO DO IS SUPPORT. Some artist like budden wouldn't be shyt w/o mixtapes, but most artist need to focus on making 13 song classics.

I agree with ths OP. I also think artists should wait 2 years between albums instead of putting albums out every 9 months or so.
