Joe Budden :what: if he was black balled in the industry he wouldn't be on Everyday Struggle
Why nikkas forget he was on Def Jam in 2003?

He went at Hov on the pump it up remix and he was like :scusthov:not today nikka.

Budden has never been mainstream or close to it since.

:whoo:This thread is kinda dumb because you don't need a major label to have success look at Fat Joe, Duxk Down or any other independant artist with their own record label. Then your measurement of success changes drastically because if Fat Joe sold 250,000 copies but reaps back 90 cents on the dollar of his $12 album vs say Nicki Minaj who would recieve 13 cents on the dollar for her $12 album that sold 2,000,000 copies. Figuratively speaking, Fat Joe would earn (0.9 x 12 = $10.80 per album sold) $2,700,000.00 dollars whereas Nicki Minaj would earn (0.13 x 12 = $1.56 per album sold) which equates to $3,120,000.00. So, yes Nicki sold more records - way more! and made more money but not by much as with just a 1/8th of sales Fat Joe would have made just shy of $400,000 less. With the advent of streams counting as sales then this feat is easily achieved and the marketing dollars would have been a high return compared to Nicki Minaj's record deal just to the sheer return on Fat Joe's end.

:pachaha::jawalrus:I know that was long winded but you don't need a major record label to do anything and that is simply why you can just do it yourself if you study the business yourself. I am not in the recording industry but if I know that then these idiots like Lil' Wayne should of been able to grasp that simple maths when signing his contract.

:gucci:Imagine if they had the smarts of Master P and the mainstream attention he had (which Fat Joe does but not the mainstream) Lil Wayne for example could of sold 2,000,000 of 'X' album and reaped 90% of those sales from Tha Carter III that he's back owed now if he just went independant like the other Hot Boys.

My point is being "blackballed" is relative to the contract situation and that you may never know unless they give hints to their earning like lil wayne who said how much he is owed which is somewhere in the ball park of $100,000,000. Which means he either has a high percentage on the dollar for his contract (unlikely with Birdbrain's track record) or that he's grossly inflated the potential earnings lost to ruin Birdbrain's reputation to sign new artists (most likely as that would dry up the pool of talent = making more money from them).

:whew:

:dame:...I'm such a chatty patty but it's the truth and so that's why your thread doesn't make sense, breh.:deadmanny: Going to sleep now:hubie:

:gucci:Now...
Joe Budden was literally just signed to Shady/Aftermath/Interscope with Slaughterhouse a few years ago so that makes your point mute.

:comeon:Also, Jae Millz was just shyt. What exec would spend company dollars on someone with minimal talent and an army trunk full of skruggle bars knowingly:heh:?
