You have a valid point, however with 50 he was controversial, so it only made sense that the label with Eminem & Dre pick him up. They lived on an island all there own and all they really had was each other and enough weight to steer the industry.

Damn near the entire industry passed on him. It was a stroke of luck, the interscope boys jumped in. He was still blackballed.

As far as Gucci, he was never blackballed. He was never an amazing talent, he had to build that up. Mostly people said he was garbage and had no longevity (the same way they view Yachty today) then people were scared to work with him.

Keri Hilson, her main plug to a career is via Timbaland who has interest in the Carter household. Tim not gonna mess up that relationhip. If Timbaland doenst go to bat for her, no one will. Therefore she is also blackballed.

You are totally wrong about Keri. Keri was also a part of The Interscope machine. There was a person who posts here that broke down how much money the label poured into both her albums and only one of them went Gold. She got several Grammy nominations and other accolades off her first album. She had big budget for the second album, but it didn't go Gold and nothing noteworthy came from it aside from "Pretty Girl Rock".

In regard to the Carter camp, J. Cole replaced Lil Kim on a song from her second album. Kanye West was featured on the official remix to "Pretty Girl Rock". She had a song with Jay Z that's available called "Rumors".

Ya'll be making up stuff just to make it up or ya'll run with rumors and assumptions before fact checking.

he had a second album. It flopped and they shelved him.

I heard he owns a locksmith business nowadays. After Vendetta he dropped two independent albums in the 2000's before quitting the music industry.

I don't know why he didn't go on a mixtape run in the late 90's and early 00's. I also think he could have been nice on Murder Inc. wasn't he cool with Irv Gotti and gave Ja Rule his first major placement.

I hear old head posters say his label tried to market him with a Nas-like aesthetic and he went jiggy and flopped for his second album.

50 cent was blackballed at a point. Might be the only example I can think of.

To me blackball means people in a position of power are hoing out of their way to try and stop your success or block opportunities by using that power. This also applies to sabotage.
