It seems like artists had no problems dropping double albums back in the day but these days it's nonexistent almost. The last one I know of would be UGK or technically Wayne with the Drought 3.

So my question is, what artists today could hold down 2 discs for a major release?

My picks are as follows:

Drake - Love him or hate him, dude would bring some heat to the table. He's also diverse enough to to keep the span of 2 discs from being boring.

Kendrick Lamar - Potential to hang with the goats. I'm talking All Eyez, Life After, Bone, UGK. This would be a pretty easy 5 mic album if he kept it diverse with aome GKMC type hits with the heart of TPAB.

Rick Ross - Rozay on his mobster big vito shyt for one disc and trap bangers on the other. Don't know why homie hasn't thought of it. Double albums = double the soundscans so it'd be an easy way to go gold out the gate.

Kanye - I don't know why he never did one. Might be too late but it would be interesting. I think it would end up BP2 status though.

Edit - I just realized Game's new album is a double disc.

Styles and Jada

Would amount to some dope shyt. Might get repetitive after a while.

Another would be Curren$y but he'd have to get production from all his past collaborators like Monsta Beatz, Alchemist, Ski, Cool n Dre, Cardo, etc to keep it interesting.

How does that work since we're practically in the post CD era. Like how would this generation view that? When was the last time we had a double hip hop in the 2010's. (honest questons not trying to be smart)

None. There's nothing you can't say in 16 songs that you need an additional 10 songs for. Double albums are usually a straw grab at trying to appeal to everybody. The best I've heard was Life After Death but I was able to even cut that to 16 songs and found it much better.

Ft. Stewart, Ga
Lupe Fiasco- He's tried to do a double and a triple disc but the Label shut him down both times.

Drake- One disc all written by Quentin Miller and the other written by The Weeknd

J.Cole- First Disc produced by him. Second disc produced by No I.D., Just Blaze, Q-Tip, and 9th Wonder

Nas- He once said he wanted to do an entire album with Premo and an album with Dr. Dre and drop them on the same day. Combine them and you'd have perhaps the GOAT double album

Kendrick Lamar- Becuase it'll be incredible

Jay Electronica- nikka been recording since 2007 he MUST have at least 300 songs in the vault....
