One thing I never understood was how when some artists get big, they stop using the producers the came up with.

T.I. was laced with some fire on that P$C album by cats like Sanchez Holmes, Keith Mack, Tony Galvin and Cyber Sapp (who also made Guccis “Freaky Girl). He doesn’t even rock with Toomp like he used to.

Also, Nelly. Producer Jay E made “Country Grammar”, “Ride With Me” and “E.I.” Then later dropped dude :mindblown:

Any others you can name?

It makes sense. You don’t want your sound to get stale.

Producers rarely have the ability to update their sound

This list is endless

Jeru, Group Home, and Guru: Primo
Raekwon: Rza(to Rae's credit, Rza was borderline done by the time Immobilarity dropped)
The entire Juice Crew : Marley Marl
slick rick: The bomb squad. To this day, it amazes me that many people don't know that the Bomb Squad carried most of the production on Slick Rick's debut.

Bone still used Uneek, but less and less of his production after Art of War

Those are a few I can think of off the top of my head

Shame they fell out. Em and bass bros were perfect

Nas x Pete Rock :troll:
Pete Rock only did one beat for Nas hahaha. It was decades later after Illmatic before we got another Pete Rock Nas collab. Nas stayed with Primo and Large Pro, and both of them had 3 tracks a piece on Illmatic. Nas basically came in the game with large pro.

Wiz Khalifa blew up with Cardo’s sound on Kush &OJ. Then Cabin Fever 1 and Rolling Papers drop with no Cardo. Taylor Allderdice drops and Cardo laces him again. ONIFC drop, Cardo only does the 30second intro beat, then Wiz goes several releases without Cardo. He’s linked back up with him now tho.

I think it’s cause Cardo didn’t sign to Taylor Gang

So many. It's off brand. It's like the brand changes. Like if Rolling Stones got a new lead singer and kept the Rolling Stones name.

Hip Hop is different, but still.

The whole soundscape changes.

Definitely Bass Brothers and Eminem.

Also I think Non Phixion and Necro. As a group and solo.

Everyone should patch things up if there's beef and make new music.

Redman and Erik sermon.

If Darkside 2 comes out - on paper the project is an easy classic.

It cannot go wrong if it's this

Redman + anger + Erik Sermon and Redman production + dark beats + Keith Murray on 3 tracks going buck!

That is it! It can't be fukked up following that formula and all Darkside fans I'm certain would agree!

fukk musical growth and experimentation. Tweak things a bit not alot.

RZA not sampling was scary.

If he kept sampling and all Wu got 5 solo albums all done by him it'd be perfect.

I'm talking from a fan's outside perspective.
