how when he did pretty well for himself during his run

Exactly. But then came 50 and then came the backlash and his stock dipped.

I know there's a lot involved besides the whole 50 thing like the Federal investigations etc... But had he came out around 2009/2010, he would've been bulletproof.

Gangster shyt with pop radio friendly anthems.

Plus his street records would've been believable and credible, unlike Drake saying "Don't make me catch a body like that...." :mjlol: :mjlol1:

It takes a lot of work to be a real group, and not 2-4 rappers rapping on the same song all the time....that type of synergy isn't really found anymore, cause you can't really create that unless it's truly organic.

man most people start off rapping with their homies. maybe not nowadays cuz its alot of wierd anti-social rappers getting deals.

its really not that much work. theres a reason why music was so much better when most people were in groups.

people forget jarule was already losing steam before the 50 cent beef went mainstream. that album and the singles were a few big steps down from the success of the 2 previous LPs. 50 and interscope just came thru and sped up the process.

we pretty much knew he was about to start tumbling downhill when we watched him perform at the BET awards THREE TIMES in june, and his entire fanbase was fickle by that point.

shoutout to my man *****. he called it on the money, as well as alot of other stuff. hes like negrodamus. he didnt predict the 50 cent part tho. obviously not. them dudes helped raise me in this rap game.

I think Roc Marciano should have came out around the time Forever dropped, dude would have had an awesome start as a Wu-Tang affliate spitting that pimp, godbody gutter shyt over soul samples. Debuts in '97, releases his debut in '99 produced by Bobby Digital in Stereo era RZA. Guest features include GFK, Rae, Prodigy, EPMD, Busta Rhymes. Holds it down for Long Island with Busta through the 00's.
:ohlawd:
Rick Ross should have came out in 1995. In that timespan we all know rappers like Nas, AZ, Jay, Rae, Ghostface, Kool G Rap, Biggie were all doing the mafioso thing. Ross would have never been identified as a former correctional officer so his reputation wouldn't take a hit. He would be one of the best mafioso rappers and he would be considered one of the rappers that put the South on in the 90's.
:yeshrug:
Joey BADA$$ should have came out in 1993. He could have reached some good success locally especially. The Big Dusty single he released for his debut album sounds like some shyt that could have been on the first Black Moon album. With his age and skillset The Source would be all over his dikk, and he'd be a mainstay on The Stretch and Bobbito Show. Big K.R.I.T. had he came out of Atlanta in the mid-90's. I think he would fit right in with the heavy bass sound and he would have fit right in with Dungeon Family, he would have made a great OutKast affiliate.
I disagree with some of these like someone said Lupe and Wale should have came out in the early 90's in the alternative rap era. IMO they came out at the perfect time post-College Dropout. I think Max B came out at the right time, prison is really what fukked him up. Mos Def also came out at the perfect time, he came out with conscious rap strong and that hipster millennium neosoul strong. Digable Planets also came out at the perfect time.

wasnt roc marciano around back then?

good point about joey. that 1st video was a classic for any era.

i dont get the big krit thing. big krit is a bigger name than all those outkast/goodie mob affiliates were. none of them blew up.
