Exactly. There's no reason to claim Chicago if you live in the burbs, to people in the city. But if you're in Cook County, there's no reason not to claim Chicago to out of towners. It's pretty much the same place. You just live right outside of city limits.

Now if you are way out in Joliet or Elgin, that's a different story.

Very few people that claim Miami grew up in city limits (including myself). Dudes are from Opa Locka/Carol City/North Miami/Miami Springs/Coral Gables/Perrine/Richmond Heights etc.

But if you want to get technical, 80% of the rappers that claim "Atlanta" lived in neighboring cities like College Park (Pastor Troy, Ludacris), Decatur or East Point (Outkast). No one ever calls they ass out on it because we're not petty like that. Migos claiming they're from Atlanta when they grew up 35 minutes away in the suburbs and went to high school with more white people than black is what i find hilarious.
