Weird people are listing
Max
Gucci mane
Kanye west
Lil b

Lil B has a good catalog, gucci has a good catalog and so does max.

Kanye has a good catalog it just didn't age well, but I'm not gonna sit online and pretend like I didn't slap all of his albums hard when they came out.

I'll throw mase into this I think he's a good example

everybody with a name has at least a lil somethin that slaps in real-time.

the question is, wheres the classics?

at least with max & gucci, they have the classic underground chit. MURDA mase too.

For what it's worth though, I get what @Wacky D is saying about 3-6. Tell the truth and shame the devil, only spitters they had were Pat, Infamous, T-Rock in his short time there, and occasionally Gangsta Boo. Everybody else was just servicable on the mic and I say this as a longtime fan :ld:

They created their own sound and made it work and you can't take that away from them though

cosign, except i'd replace project pat with koopsta knicca on that list of people who can actually rap in that crew.

and yea, these dudes know im right. thats why they couldnt even name an album.

whats funny is, i was a 3-6 mafia fan way back when. i guarantee you i supported them way more than most of their dikkriders on this board.

crunchy black's non-rappin ass is my favorite.:mj:

i cant even say it was the lack of quality rapping that neccessarily hurt them. i mean, it doesnt help them, but i think that the repetitiveness & the abundance of filler is what really hurt them.

If big sean had copyrighted that style it would be like...30% fewer rappers in the game right now...

It's CRAZY how this little wack ass dude changed rap so much and jump started so many careers...

Kanye owes his rap career to dude...all of drakes writers got drake on writing rhymes like big sean...wayne had a second career rhyming like big sean...

I think dude is wack but man...if he copyrighted that pop culture punchline style he'd be a damn billionaire by now...

hold up man.

you gotta show me an example of this pop culture style that youre talking about.

classic doesn't mean it's not great

It a remarkable that the most influential producers in our modern Era of music is Three Six Mafia and they don't run around with th "Legend" label a on their chest. Juicy J is brilliant for that. He can stay relevant with out seeming like a "old rapper".

its not hard for old legends to survive when they have no classic albums.

theres no expectations.

Be a poster named "Wacky D" and try to insult me, breh. :mjlol:

:what:

that wasnt an insult dikkhead.

The funny thing is all of the albums I named influenced what's on the radio now. 3-6 hypnotic style of beats is everywhere now. Mike Mill Made It and Lex Luger are leading examples. I don't even need to post music. Youtube it, spotify it, or whatever.

you dont understand the premise of this thread, do you?

Are yall just hating Memphis/southern legends artists? Hell DJ Paul created the fukkin 808 for god's sake and has classic albums on top of classic album. Same for Spice 1 and Ball and G. Someone mentioned UGK too?:snoop:
I already know someone is gonna mention Kast...:martin:

DJ Paul created the 808 drum machine :mjlol:

Did RZA create the 909 too:mjlol:

Just listen to any big sean verse...

Or any fabulous verse from the last 5 years or so...

Just any type of punchline rapper who's references are full of stuff like video games, movies, tv shows, trends,

Fabulous is a perfect example of a dude who ran with Big Sean style...early fab never did that many pop culture references...new fab is so bad at forcing them...

Papoose bad :scust:
