I know on the internet it's cool to say we saw everything coming. We predicted every demise and saw everyone's potential. But let's be real for a moment. Whose run lasted longer than you thought? Let's give some props to hip-hop artists for their grind.
:salute:

Gotta :salute: French Montana. I never saw this dude being this popular for this long. Even with the NY market

Gotta :salute: Kid Cudi. I can't get through any of his projects but his support base is respectable. All threads on here about the guy seem to do solid numbers.

Honestly so many rappers from post 2005, once the rise of youtube then twitter/IG hit. Some of those rappers would be J-Kwon/Mims status and wouldn't have been able to spam all their music to the massive because of that. Lil' B and Soulja Boy are two of the biggest culprits. Kreayshawn wouldn't have even resonated in rap either.

I first heard him on that tony montana track and really fukked with the song but thought he was garbage lyrically so I couldnt see him being around for long... If im honest i thought hed be a one hit wonder, plus drake was pissed off at future for dissin him cuz he didnt do the video for tony montana

Like 5 years later this nikka is a top dog in the industry and has shown he has a mean pen game for hooks and a nasty flow

Let's be honest Future. Tony Montana came out in 2011 and he had a pretty great year in 2012. He's now bigger than ever. When ppl look back they're going to forget about his stuff like bytches love me, new Bugatti, karate chop, uoeno I think those songs may have been individually bigger charting wise than anything on his recent run for example March Madness might be remembered more than those songs.

Gucci Mane - I partially think his jail stints somewhat help his career. Just when he reaches that over saturation point he gets locked up and you have a bunch of ppl screaming free Gucci for years, helping him maintain w/o releasing music. It also helps that he might be one of the best A&R ever so he always has new artist to piggyback off of.

Eminem? He's had two albums be the number one selling albums in their respective years post 2010. Who's still listening to him at this point? I'm not saying he should have totally fallen off but def wouldn't expect him to be putting out multi platinum albums at this stage.

This is difficult to say now.. some people just riding off the fact you dont need a major or even retail albums... a lot of these rappers would have vanished in the old model of doing things

Drake is a name.. for him to make hits and even survive that battle and needing ghostwriters is just fuhkin amazing..
