Honestly, I thought Rick Ross would be no more than a 1 hit wonder. When I heard Hustlin' my 2nd thought was "this dude is going to be gone with a year."

Common...

Dude has been somewhat relevant for over 20 years...

The first time I saw this on Rap City, I would never imagine this guy would be winning Grammy's and performing at the Oscars in his 40s...

Fat Joe...

of all the rappers that emerged in the early 90s... all the DITC members... all the NY artists that were out at the time... you tell me in '93 that Fat Joe would still pump a hit out here and there, and 23 years later have a song burning up radio... and yet, a lot of the art*ts who were way bigger/better during that era would be long outta here... I'da laughed my ass off. But dude went way further than anyone ever expected him to.

flo-rida should easily be the # cat on this list.
True but he a singles artist. He don't sell many albums but like 5 yrs ago he was selling singles like a MF. He found out what worked well for him and he cooked and ate good....gotta put some respeck on his name for his hustle.

You know what, I actually thought Ross would have a better run post "Teflon Don". But at the same time, this game is dominated by singles artists. I can't imagine how dope his albums would be now if album quality still mattered.
Teflon Don had a lot of features on it....I think he only had one song just solo...but it had some hits. I think he had 4 songs as singles from that album and I liked them all....BMF, Aston Martin Music, the song with Gucci and its another one I can't remember off hand.

Not a popular one but I'm surprised Cash Out is still around somehow :ehh:

I was SURE he was going to be a one hit wonder but he keeps coming back with something that gets play in clubs :ehh:

I also didn't think T Pain would fall off so hard :francis:
Dude had the hook game on lock and auto tune is as big as ever and you barely hear about him anymore :francis:

Very true about Cash Out. I knew he was gonna be a one hit wonder. Future kinda took T-Pain's spot low key. But T-Pain had the hook and autotune thing on lock.

When I saw Outkast and saw Andre 3000 with his fashion and even his name, it looked like a gimmick. They kept pumping out classics and the rest of the industry caught up with his weirdness and now he doesn't seem so weird in comparison anymore. LOL
