This. Nas used to sound really laidback and was a master at fitting a whole bunch of words in his rhymes without sounding out of breath or tired. His style now is a lot more based on emphasis. Like, he really wants you to catch every word he's saying and feel it.
Eminem did a complete 180° from when he first started. First, he started off with a Nas/AZ impression, then sounded more drunk and conversational with the SSLP. Then with the first MMLP, he perfected his flow and his delivery became way more aggressive and confrontational. He pretty much used this approach until Relapse, which was an outlier because he was experimenting with different flows and trying to learn how to rap again.
Recovery was the beginning of whatever he does now: Over-emphasis on what he's saying, abrupt endings to lines, flow sounds a lot more robotic, sped-up, and scattered, and he really tries to fit way too many words in just to prove that he can.
