I took it as homage just for the fact you really NEVER hear folks pay homage to 4tay,i was glad to see people bringing his name up educating bucks whos verse it was who might in turn go check for him cuz Drake is using his bars. I really cant tell no emcee how to feel about another emcee biting they rhymes since I don't rhyme. I woulda liked to see 4tay not get offended and wait a second for Drake to be asked about usin the 4tay verse in a interview or something,mighta gave the homie all the praise in the world....but at the same time if he really is offended its cool to see he aint just gon play nice and try to get a feature. If you offended as a emcee let the world know...Kurupt aint get mad when Kendrick used his rhymes and style on control but emcees different. When u use somebodys lyrics be prepared for any reaction if u don't cite or hit a nikka up first

I feel like if you listened to the verse and recognized 4Tay's lyrics and realized this is on a track with a Bay nikka, then Drake did what he set out to do. Makin music (at its best) is about tryin to relate with the listener. One way of doing that is by referencing something youre both familiar with (Pac used to do it all the time, granted with his own shyt). I aint a Bay nikka (but I honor them nikkaz how they take to the streets when its time to), but I imagine those nikkaz knew the lyrics off top. was prolly like

First album was tight just off of I'll Be Around, Playas Club, and Don't Fight the Feeling (She's a sellout.) I liked his Off Parole album too, I felt like that was a better overall album.

This paying homage bullshyt is getting out of hand. Put the nikka in the video or something damn. Stealing lyrics and calling it paying homage isnt shyt but a scheme by Drake to give him the perception of being more *real/street* by showing his interest in the lyrics of old school *playas*
