Like “Trophies,” YG’s DJ Mustard-produced and Drake-assisted “Who Do You Love” surfaced early this morning. In a September interview with XXL, the Compton rapper said that Drake wanted to put the song out, like, the second it was done — which may be why Drake teased it at an after-party in Houston — but YG felt it was better to wait and “make sure my hit comes out right.” So all may not have gone exactly according plan with the release, but with the DJ Mustard signature synth-bass and Drake’s my name too big, my gang too big braggadocios– sure sounds like the hit he had hoped for. Like he said, “It’s a banger. [Girls] gonna be in the club with they homegirls turned up.” “Who Do You Love” will feature on YG’s debut album, My Krazy Life, which is scheduled for a March 18th release via Def Jam.

It's not like Drake needs to hold a press conference, or something like that...and like some of you have said, rappers used to say others rappers' lines (yeah, a "line" - not say damn near half their verse) all the time, but the difference is that it takes 2 seconds for them to say "like _____", which is what they used to do. That's paying real homage. When you aren't citing your sources, you're passing it off like it's your chit.

No they're not. Juvie's been off CMB for a long time. Nice try. Juvie got a check for Practice, but again, this song (which ain't even Drake's) leaked just a few days ago. For all we know, they've probably already looked to give him credit once the song drops officially. For all we know, this becomes a hit for YG and they make a video. You don't think they woulda called him up (like Rappin 4-Tay's too busy for a video )

And this is a good part of it...like on "Hoo Bangin'" when Mack 10 said "You'll be DEAD if I pull this triggerrrrrrr..." we didn't trip because that's from a hip-hop classic that everybody knows. But in a case like this, it's someone who I felt never gets his just due - and this nicca Drake should not be gettin' somebody elses' props.

Drake still took the song (and if Juvie didn't get paid off it, maybe he'd feel differently regardless). Drake didn't have to say "well this is a Juvenile song. I'm just paying homage." Why? We all knew what it was. It's not Drake's fault that we got kids runnin around not knowing who Rappin' 4-Tay is and that's the real issue at hand.

Like I said, I didn't see people mad at Fab biting Jay-Z's line. I don't see the outrage when rappers lift older rappers' lines. I don't see the outrage of Jeezy basically running around ridin Tyga's wave the last 2 years without proper approval. This shyt been commonplace.

The real issue is that Drake knows his target audience (which is generally not hip hop purists and generally is too young to be familiar with 4's song) won't know he's referencing rapping 4.
