The weakness of that site is they let one reviewer make the consensus opinion on an album and let it stick, so we get this awful review or Hip Hop Is Dead as a 10. But it does have some strengths, because they cover a LOT of albums, albums that don't get a sniff of coverage anywhere else.

For real though, that site put me on some stuff though. But anything outside the East Coast they reviewed I took with a grain of salt.

Half of their reviewers are stuck in the 90's, especially that dude Flash. Dude put Slaughterhouse and the Bumpy Knuckles/Premo collabo in his top 10. :what:

The other half have their heads buried in indie rap. Mind you, I got love for the independent scene. But it's like they go out of their way to ignore mainstream hip-hop and write positive reviews about some bumfukk rapper from South Dakota.

In 96 thats how backpackers/underground fans/critics felt about that album.
I'm surprised they gave it a 7 out of 10 because I figured they'd rate it lower like bytch ass Hip Hop Connection.

Album still a classic though

Edit: Oh wait this was recently reviewed? And it was lower than HHID and SD? Crazy talk..
Granted some of the points they raised about the effect it had on Nas' career and the evolution were fair but a bit stingy on the lyric points.

I hate the site, but for the most part they give Mainstream love.

:pacspit: that site for rating that piece of shyt album Loyal to the Game higher then the The 7 Day Theory and All Eyez on Me.

Plus the same damn person reviewed those albums. That site got no credibility.

I've been hoping that they'd see the extreme error of their ways and do a "Back To The Lab" re-review of It Was Written as that review REALLY sounds like back pack nerd hating at its ugliest. Their review of IWW, IronMan, and even Vol.2 misses the mark entirely...

And the fact that they'd give Hip Hop Is Dead a 10 while only giving Life Is Good a 9 makes 0 sense...

thats all it was back then.. "OH NO PRIMO, PETE, or Large P.. he sold out"

I never bought into that shyt
