She just needs a hot single that resonates with the current generation so she can get thru that door. She has yet to do that even with the grammy nomination cheating on 9th wonders end.

I'm sure it'll be more joyless rappity rap over dope beats. I liked the last album, thought it was pretty damn good...but I only listened to that album twice. There's just no "there" there if you know what I mean. Hopefully more personality comes out this time. And some fun.

This is a good time to make some inroads. Chicks out here really rapping now. Megan, Cardi, etc all are flowing and doing their thing. But if this album boils down to "I'm a black woman, I don't go to the clubs, instead I read Maya Angelou novels" then she's gonna miss the boat. You need some crossover attempts...and to show you can do more than imitate Hov.

The first single definitely hits the mark, you can tell she was having fun there.
