Every mom in the hood thinks their son is an innocent kid. In their mind, their son is still 12 and pure-hearted. In real life, their son is a full grown goonThey're not with their kids on the block. They don't know sh*t. Then on top of that, when Biggie wrote raps about how hard it was growing up (ex. we used to fuss when the landlord dissed us), it's almost a diss to his mother. Of course she's gonna play it down like he was over-exaggerating. Nobody is going to admit that they couldn't keep food on the table or that their kid wore clothes from Goodwill. It's embarrassing

The story B.I.G portrayed of himself is the image he portrayed in his music, anyone with an interest in his career wouldn't have been surprised by anything in it. The image portrayed in that video is no doubt the image B.I.G and Bad Boy would have wanted the world to see around the time the album dropped because; no doubt because they believed it would help his record sales. Don't see how you can blame the programme makers for that.

It reminds me of kids I knew growing up. They lived in the burbs, but wanted to be gang banging so bad. Had a good family, but still tried to be in the streets as much as possible.

Remember that show it was called: "The Word" came on the same station as this B.I.G interview. Those interviews your talking about must be at least 20 years old. Aaliyah featured on it one at one point during the whole R.Kelly marriage scandal.
