I've never really heard people talk about who had a better verse. It was just a dope song. Ras Kass wasn't off beat at all. I don't know why you keep saying that. He wasn't lol.

They both stayed on topic. The beat definitely sounds more like a Nas vibe though.
How was he not off beat at all? Da fukk? nikka there was a whole section in the verse where he just ignored the beat. And the on/offbeat flow he used. Pharaoh Monch did it better on the same song.

No he wasnt bro. Lol I can play the shyt for anyone and they will say the same. I think U so used to his flow that u don't realize it.

Most those people probably never been in a studio and listen to all different kinda flows for years. He wasn't off beat bro. Like at all. He never lost the beat. Off beat is Silk the Shocker on Ice Cream Man.

Ras's flow has always been choppy, but up until '98 or so he made it work imo. The only thing Ras had over Nas is overwrought punchlines. That's literally it. He wasn't a more creative writer or even an outright better spitter.

Dude had the Chino XL vibe on part of that shyt. And yes of course I been in the studio for years considering I'm an artist myself since the 90s. I own a studio. I engineer and produce. And I used to DJ.

Lol I wasn't talking about you bro, I meant the people you play it for. A lot of times people misunderstand flow, cadence, delivery, etc...because they can be closely related.

I feel u. But like boy above me said. Ras Kass flow is kinda choppy. He's in and out. It's a part of his style. But as far as that Wake Up Show anthem goes. Nas owned that shyt. Made it sound like a leftover from Illmatic. Real talk. I would've been fine with just him rappin on it. And all this he's a far better lyricist than Nas talk is a joke to me. He focuses on different things than Nas. Nas is more effortless. Ras Kass literally focuses on tryna be lyrical. He makes it work for him. But it's one of the reasons I never felt Joe Budden fit with Slaughterhouse. He started TRYING to be lyrical. Lyricism without a purpose just doesn't appeal to me like that anymore. It's hard to make it not sound corny.

I need to get around to listening to that album. I've listened to Blasphemy and Barmageddon so far.

Nope. nikkas like Ras Kass. Chino XL etc. etc. Ras is way more relatable and doper than the rest tho.
I don't agree with you on that. Ras has tried to make majority of his tracks with a song, concept in mind. Chino could be more on that lyrical miracle tip, but Ras has relevant subject matter and actually tries to craft songs. So no I think u r wrong.
