No. Its a reboot/reimagining of the first ratchet and clank game from ps2.
I replayed the hd collection for the ps3 game last year. I forgot the first game you couldnt even strafe while shooting.
To be honest most of the mainline r and c games have a similar look and feel. Even in the stages. The fun comes from all the crazy guns.
