7-Year-Old Chinese Boy Contracted STDs From Teacher
by Li on Tuesday, July 30, 2013278comments

From Nandu.com:

Hubei Wuxue 7-Year-Old Boy Suspected of Being Sexually Assaulted by Teacher for Half a Year Contracting STD
“My child was sexually abused by his teacher!” On [July] 27th, Jiaotong 91.8 got a call from Ms. Peng, who used to be a migrant worker in Hangzhou and was originally from Hubei, seeking help: “My son, just 7 years old, contracted an STD.” Her son goes to school in Shadun Village, Longping County, Wuxue City, and her son said that his teacher would buy him snacks every day, have him wait in a the corner of the bathroom, and had been raping him for as long as half a year. The boy was tested positive for genital warts, and warts surround his anus.

Ms. Peng has already reported the case to the local police station. This reporter contacted Hubei Police and local police staff said they would do their best to collect evidence. Based on this victimized child’s testimony, other students in his class were also sexually abused by the teacher. At present, the suspect has already been identified and the case is under further investigation.

The boy’s mother, Ms. Peng, said that because the circumstances of their family were poor, she had come to Hangzhou for work as soon as the baby turned one month old. She made clothing here in Jiubao. 3 years later, by way of introduction, she went to Guangzhou, up until the start of summer vacation, where she [returned and] took the boy to Guangzhou to see his father. “I was bathing him and I discovered things growing on his butt, so I took him to the hospital and had syphilis, HIV, all the tests done!”

This reporter came to Ms. Peng’s home in Shadun Village, Longping County, Wuxue City, Hubei Province, saw her son, and obtained the doctor’s medical diagnosis on which it is clearly written: “Genital Warts around anus, Human papillomavirus (HPV) low risk type positive…” The doctor’s diagnosed that three months before the outbreaks, the boy had anal sex.

There, this reporter saw the boy lying on the bed with his face down, with an innocent and not-knowing-exactly-what-is-going-on look on his face. The mother, Ms. Peng, says she has to change the medication every 4 hours, and they’re doing a thorough cleaning and sterilization of their home. Yesterday, the police had already came to their home, and the boy has also already identified the teacher suspected of sexual abuse. The suspected teacher is 31 years old. The police had already come to the boy’s home, provided photos of several teachers, and the victim only identified this one teacher as having done “bad things”. Further more, this reporter also learnt that there may be 2 other victims. One student has already moved away and currently cannot be reached, whereas the other student’s 59-year-old grandmother denied that the child had been sexually abused.

On the afternoon of [July] 28th, this reporter visited the boy’s school, but because the school is undergoing renovations during the summer vacation, only a school principal surnamed Huang remains at the school. According to him, the teacher suspected of sexual abuse has been teaching at the school for 10 years, and at present, the Public Security Bureau and Education Bureau have already restricted this teacher from leaving town. The sexually abused child will undergo forensic tests and identify the suspect tomorrow.

by Peter Barefoot on Friday, July 26, 2013233comments

From Nandu.com:

Man in Beijing Slammed 2-Year-Old Girl to Death on the Street over Parking Dispute
Summary: Two nights ago [July 23], at about 8:50pm, at the bus stop on the west side of Wudian Road in Daxing District, two men in a car had a dispute with a woman pushing a 2-year-old girl in a stroller. One of the men raised his hand hitting the woman, and afterwards, he took the baby girl out of the stroller and slammed her heavily onto the ground, then fled the scene in his car. After the incident happened, the baby girl was confirmed dead while en route to the hospital.

Baby girl slammed into the ground in her sleep

The incident took place on the west side of Wudian Road in Daxing District Jiugong Town, at the Keji Road Bus Stop, where Bus 729 heads from Chengheyuan Community to Jiangzhuang Bridge North. Yesterday [July 24] morning, multiple commercial tenants at the scene of the incident confirmed that two nights ago [July 23], at past 8pm, there were people beating up a woman at the bus stop, and her child in the stroller was heavily smashed onto the ground. At the bus stop where the incident happened, there are already no more traces [of what happened].

On the night when the incident took place, a Mr. Zhou was running his food stand business about 10 meters away from the scene of the incident outside a noodle restaurant. He says on that night at about 8:50pm, he was tending to his business when suddenly he heard some “slapping” noises coming from the bus stop, where a man around the age of 30 wearing a dark colored upper garment was beating up a woman in white with medium-length hair, with a white car and a stroller parked to the side.

“The man’s was beating [the woman] heavily, I could even hear it from my sidewalk food stand”. Mr. Zhou says after a few hits, he turned to the stroller and took the child out of it, “raised [the child] up, and then slammed [the child] into the ground”.

According to Mr. Zhou, the child in the stroller had been sleeping and didn’t struggle when the man picked her up. “She was even more still after being slammed into the ground, not even the normal sound of crying from pain”. Mr. Zhou said that after the man smashed the child to the ground, another man who looked to be about the same age as the man who beat up the woman came out of the white car from the driver’s seat, “and also hit the woman a few times”.

Parking dispute incited argument

Mr. Zhou says the whole thing lasted less than 3 minutes. After the incident, he cooperated with the police to retrieve surveillance footage. The surveillance footage showed that as the woman was pushing the stroller past the bus stop, “maybe there was something wrong with the child, so as she bent down to check, the white car drive by, and it seemed like the men inside the car wanted to park their car there, and were telling the woman to get out of the way”. According to Mr. Zhou, the woman refused, and after the two sides exchanged words, the man sitting next to the driver’s seat got out of the car and began beating her.

Multiple eyewitnesses say, after the incident happened, the men quickly drove the white car south down Wudian Road. Before long, police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the bus stop, and began to investigate and collect evidence.

Newborn Chinese Baby ‘Roasted’ to Death in Hospital Incubator
by Bing on Monday, July 22, 201397comments

From NetEase:

Internet Exposes Fujian Quanzhou Infant Roasted to Death in Incubator
According to CCTV’s weibo: Fujian Quanzhou Newborn Infant’s Cause of Death Suspected to be Excessive Temperature in Incubator. Yesterday, Quanzhou citizen Ye Yilong received the sad news of the death of his ten-day-old baby. According to Ye Yilong’s family, because of improper handling by the hospital, the temperature of the incubator was too high and the child was roasted to death. Corresponding photos were provided at the same time. But according to Quanzhou Children’s Hospital, the child died of infections. Currently, Quanzhou health authorities have launched an investigation. (CCTV reporter: Wang Chunxiao)

On July 18, a Weibo netizen posted “Newborn infant placed in incubator, roasted to death by overly high temperature” Quack doctors are in power at Quanzhou Children’s Hospital and treat human lives as no more than grass [have scant/no regard for human lives] and toasted a healthy baby to death overnight! The hospital side shirked responsibility. Doctors and nurses were all hidden from people, even the surveillance video had been deleted. What was “darker” was that the TV station said they dared not report the news. The child was so little, he didn’t even have time to experience the beauty of this world!

an-infant-grilled-to-death-04.jpg

According to a blogger who goes by the name “可爱的腰间盘啊” on Weibo: “Now the hospital is keeping the family members [of the dead infant] inside the hospital and aren’t letting them out. This is the photo my aunt sent me! Checking the milk feeding records, prior to [July] 16, only on the 11th was there a single feeding. Likewise, clearly as a result of the incubator’s temperature being too high, there’s no undamaged flesh on the baby’s back at all. She was only 12 days old, she didn’t even know anything! Quanzhou Children’s Hospital, don’t think that just because the surveillance video is now gone, the records are now gone, the medical records have now been altered, and the doctors and nurses have run away that you are able to “cover the sky with one hand” [hide the truth from the masses]. Don’t think that just because you are a public hospital that reporters dare not investigate, that you can defy every law and regulation. I will call every hotline that I can call. Last Sunday I just talked with the child’s mother on the phone and she said that [her baby] could have been released from the hospital on that day, but the hospital claimed [the baby] caught a cold and couldn’t leave the hospital. Early in the morning on Wednesday, a call from the hospital informed them that the child was dying. During those two and three days, the hospital deleted all they could delete, altered all that they could alter, and when they family was rushing to the hospital, it put on a show with a few rounds of CPR before announcing her death. Because I was not there at the scene, I can only post what I know. The photos can tell everything clearly!”

This Southern Metropolis Daily reporter learned from the Quanzhou City Health Bureau Office that yesterday [July 17] morning, the bureau had sent relevant leaders and experts to the hospital to investigate this incident, the details of which must be reported to superiors step-by-step (before they can be released to the public). Previously, netizen “@可爱的腰间盘啊” exposed that the deceased is his relative’s child, and that Quanzhou Children’s Hospital had refused to discharge the baby from the hospital claiming the baby had a cold.

Tsinghua Professor: Raping a Hostess is Less Harmful
by Peter Barefoot on Wednesday, July 17, 2013261comments

From QQ:

Tsinghua Professor: Raping Hostesses is Less Harmful than Raping Women of Good Households
[...]

July 10, the new attorneys of Li X, who has been charged by prosecutors for suspicion of rape, made a statement on their blog claiming that the press has the obligation to protect minors and old artists. Moreover, the two new lawyers had previously communicated to the press that they were going to plead not guilty for Li X. All of a sudden, this event has once again incited the fermentation of public opinion.

[...]

On [July] 16, a certain Yi Yanyou, whose verified weibo account says he’s the head of the Law School Evidence Act Center of Tsinghua University, defended Li Tianyi’s attorneys on his microblog arguing that raping a hostess [women hired by bars and clubs to fill up the venue, dance on the dance floor, drink with customers but rarely anything more] is less harmful than raping a woman from a good family. As soon as he said this, it incited heated netizen discussion. Immediately, in response to questions and criticism from netizens, Yi Yanyou clarified on his microblog that the last sentence should be revised as follows: Raping a woman from a good household is more harmful than raping prostitutes and hostesses who drink, dance, and sleep with customers.

Tsinghua professor Yi Yuanyou.

The following is the original microblog post [since deleted]:

@易延友: In defense of Li Tianyi’s defense attorneys: 1. To plead innocent is his right. To quote the Haidian district prosecutor: The sky isn’t going to fall down if we let someone plead not guilty. 2. Minors enjoy special protections, there’s nothing inappropriate about his attorneys issuing statements asking people to respect the law. 3. Pointing out that the victim is a hostess doesn’t mean that hostesses can be raped but there’s a greater possibility that a hostess would consent to sexual behavior. Moreover, even if it is rape, raping hostesses is less harmful than raping women of good households.
