You should check out the manga next, very well drawn, great fights, story progression, characters and you actually get to see the GOAT MC @Guts in action

kent doing better than GRRM, the story is already 60-70% done and we just got the elf island stories with casca which were amazing

I would read the manga.

the animes dont do it proper justice and only goes up until about less than midway

I watched the OG 97 anime first then I started reading from the beginning and I really liked that method of getting into berserk.

Read the manga, but if you're going to watch the anime watch the 97 one.

The old anime's imagery is classic, so much detail; Michelangelo status.
