For day 41 of our rate this anime series the coli came to a true discussion. What does it mean to be an anime and while we didn’t get a universal consensus the coli did agree that MMPR is considered a bottom tier “anime” with a score of 7.57

Damn its already been 10+ years since this show came out. I remember seeing the first ep like it was just yesterday after getting home from school. I'm getting old.

Wasn't really impressed. Honestly didn't finish it either.

Soul Eater has some of the most creative character designs I've ever seen. Almost everyone jumps out of the screen because their unique outfits and powers. The aesthetic embraces hyper cartoonish artwork over any semblance of realism in a way that works really well for the show. The fights are mostly creatively done and fun to look at. The first half of this anime is pretty entertaining.

The second half...no idea what happened there. Tried to introduce a bunch of new elements in a short span of time and gets hyper dramatic in a way that didn't suit the character personalities well. Something like the final twelve episodes of the anime is filler. The manga is the best way to experience Soul Eater by far - a lot of things wound up being censored in the anime that shouldn't have been. I'll give the anime a 6 overall.

Not sure if anyone has nominated any of the JoJo parts yet. The whole what anime are you watching thread would vote on that.

7 the manga saved this anime. This was the same studio that created the full metal alchemist from 2003 and just like that one they made their own ending which ruins the story and characters.

they dropped the ball in the second half. edit: not even the 2nd half. those last eps just... i dunno, man. I dont even remember the ending. I think I dropped the show altogether.

It's still one of my favorite anime visually. Imaginative and unique spin on the whole "Shinigami" trend that was going on at the time.

I don't know whether to take a point or add a point cause

so I'ma just leave my vote at 7

If the anime would've followed the manga, this could've been a 10.

It gets a solid 8 from me but I can definitely foresee lower scores.

I co sign everybody here. Shyt really does fall off later in the season. Two other animes we’re going to do had this same problem ( Canon busters & Durarara).

CB was hit or miss the whole season for me. Some early episodes were dope and some later ones were dope imo, but the show just never seemed to hit its stride. shyt was frustrating since it had enough dope elements to make it work.
