Rate this anime day 71: Black Clover

[Consumed]

I don't have much patience anymore for long running shounen. Has to hook me immediately and provide something different from what I've already seen to get me to commit for 100+ episodes. Could watch eight one cour shows or watch another long running anime that's just better.

So when I watch Black Clover I'm thinking to myself, why not re-watch all the other great shounen anime that I haven't seen in up to a decade that are better than Black Clover will ever hope to be. Then I do that and forget about Black Clover. Giving it a 4-5.

tried watching it, but it felt..... pretty mediocre. Even after I got over the whole "constantly yelling lead character" thing. Even after they toned it down a bit.

Even after it "picked up" or "got better". Yes, I watched up to the middle of this elf reincarnation arc. Then I switched to the manga and it fell off my radar, too

My feelings on it can be summed up by my last post in the anime thread, pretty much

because @Bryan Danielson stanning it so hard won't let us forgive the series for a single mediocre episode

and the show is swimming in mediocrity

Prolly my least favorite "popular" anime in recent years.

shyt is hella mediocre. Animation for the most part is trash and the characters aren't that deep. Villains are mostly forgettable and the story is predictable.

Generic shounen that'll be forgotten about once the run is over.
