Fantastic movie! A1 Animation!

Villain abilities were unique and the fight scenes were flawless.

Opened the door for a lot of other work to follow through.


Dakuan is the archetype for characters that came later, like Nicotine in Samurai Shodown II and Okina in The Last Blade. Kagero is the precursor for Taki in the Soul Calibur series. Jubei is in damn near everything as the lone wandering swordsman archetype.

Now that I think about it, Bushizo is a base template for Shino from Naruto.

Watched it when I was in high school, around '95. Can't even really say we were anime fans, but this, "Wicked City", "Fist Of The North Star", and a couple others...."Akira", obviously....had us in a head lock.
