Didn't know it was that modern. Not really my type of town but I guess it has it's redeeming qualities.

Ju city! “Jackson Mississippi got my back like that’s my living state”-Boosie
Lived in The Sipp, but have only been to Jackson twice. My high school played both Northwest Rankin and Brandon in football; both cities and schools on the outskirts of Jackson where the white folks live. All the high schools in the city are black.
Some of the finest women I’ve ever met went to Jackson State. Other than that, I don’t know much about the city. Only Sipp cities I’m familiar with are those on the coast and Meridian.

If you're going to live in the heart of Mississippi, you'll probably be in/near Jackson. It's not going to be a cutting edge city, but at least you can live. Meridian probably would be second, other than that you have the coast between New Orleans and Mobile and the north end of the state near Memphis.
