HA. I'm actually moving there in May. so random to pick this city tho. why not manila? quezon is like san diego to what LA is on an intl scale.

found that a bit odd.

Quezon is more populated so that’s why I decided to cover it but Manila definitely looks more interesting.

Never been to Philippines but most of my ex girls were Filipino (non Fobs) and lots of my friends. Heard Quezon is bumpin in terms of nightlife but no match for Manila. Not a fan of Filipino food either. Gave it an 8 cuz i love the girls but the accent :francis:

Don’t know how I missed this, but going to the Philippines when I was in the military changed my life forever.

Those are some good folks over there, and it’s a place I’d consider living if I ever left the US.

Elaborate why you liked it? :jbhmm:

The part we were in was very rural..its called Crow Valley, and it was in a valley in a jungle like area between some mountains.

It was a village there, and those folks were dirt poor. Kids running around with no clothes on, a whole family living in a single room metal hut, no electricity or running water, but they were the nicest, most humble people ive ever met in my life. They did have a few makeshift basketball goals in the village. I was hitting turnaround jumpers on them like prime Kobe and MJ :wow: But It made me appreciate everything I have seeing them always so upbeat when they didnt have shyt.

Also once we got done with our training mission, they let us stay in an area outside of Manlia. I went inside a mall there and shyt was like I was a celebrity. Walked in the food court and everyone was looking at me out of curiosity, and some came up to me to shake my hand. Im 5'9 but I towered over everyone there :mjlol:

Since I was military, I had to have a certain hair cut..I went inside a barbershop in the mall and chopped it up with the barber. It was dope as fukk talking about life with someone from the opposite side of the world.

The nightlife there is better than it is here IMO, and im not even a dude who likes to club and all that. The scenery is beautiful and so are the women, and most of the folk there speak english.

Only drawbacks to me were the weather..it was damn near 99 degrees with 96% humidity every day. that shyt just made me miserable, and I honestly dont see how the hell folks live in that weather. And the food wasnt that good to me. The chicken over there taste funny, and they use dark meat for the most part (I prefer white meat). TBH I think thats the way chicken is supposed to taste, we just pump ours full of steroids and shyt over here so it taste different..i'd have to be a vegetarian or only go to the chain food places if I lived there.

They have stray water buffaloes walking around like we have stray dogs and cats over here..that shyt is a trip. I think everyone who has the opportunity should visit a different country.
