Shoulda went to Sacramento instead.
Breh, give it a rest. Stop tryna make Sac happen :russ:
Shocked very few of yall talked about the tech/VC industry out there. For any of yall who work in tech how is it working in SF

I’m in Tech and a lot of firms are here. I’m part of a Black tech ERG and we host mixers quite often. Also some black tech groups, too.

It’s funny because more of the big name tech and VC firms are actually not in SF but on the Peninsula eg Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Menlo Park even as far south as San Jose.

I like San Francisco more than Los Angeles.

As an actual city, yes. I prefer the tight, compact layout of SF and that it’s very walkable.

I haven’t been to LA as much as I should given I’ve been in the Bay for almost four years but I can tell LA would have more for me socially.

Where in The Bay do you live?

If you sliced Central LA outta the city you basically have SF. Similar verticality and design, hilly, etc. LA is massive, people don't have time to experience the entire city...

I'm just plugging it on here, people go to Sac in real life. Anytime someone mentions "NorCal" and "black" in the same sentence, you're doing a disservice to omit Sacramento from conversation. It's been a better place for black people for a decade...

I was out in SF a bunch of times in the early 2010s and thoroughly enjoyed myself :blessed: Bomb Mexican and Asian food :ohlawd: All types of exotical shorties :steviej: Chill azz people :salute: Scenic views :whoo: Sideshows on International in Oakland :pachaha:

Now I'm debating visiting again but it's been well over 10 years. Has the vibe changed that much since then? I keep hearing about the gentrification. I'd hate to go back and then be like "da fukk is this shyt :dahell:" I don't want my memories to be ruined :sadcam:

It's pretty bad right now. You'd probably be better off keeping the memories you had from before than overwriting them with how it is currently :mjcry:

I had went to Farolito but it smelled like shyt in front of it and it was cash only. Taqueria was much more active too.

They’re good, but I’m a bigger fan of El Tipico. Still on Mission St, farther south in the Excelsior District.

I always get the burritos with the beef tongue.
