Been there numerous times. Giving it a 4...The boardwalk can be fun but it can be dirty asf, even more so than Ocean City’s. Like the fact that it has two malls both on and off the boardwalk tho. Food is decent with the typical boardwalk food offerings. Outside the boardwalk tho, AC looks like one of the roughest cities in Jersey. shyt be looking mad dingy forreal :scust: S/O to Boardwalk Empire tho, pretty much the best HBO series produced not named The Wire and Game of Thrones.

Just finished re-watching the series last night. Such a great show.

:ohlawd:

HBO fukked up by rushing that final season though.

wifey and i used to go to A/C like once a month when we lived in Jersey CIty. We used to get crazy hotel deals for off-peak weekends.
A/C is different now , you have the outlets if you want to shop but now A/C is a day trip.

NY will hold Jersey City down @HaitianPattyFromNYC - but I would like to see a thread about it if there’s a consensus. Or you can do a Newark and Jersey City combination just call it North Jersey which would include (Paterson, Passaic, Jersey City, Newark, Elizabeth, East Orange, West Orange, and West New York, NJ) .. if anything , just do a Newark thread and call it a day.

I’m down for a North Jerz thread and I’m not even from there. It was a DMV thread and a Minneapolis-St. Paul thread, so it should only be fair IMO.

I gave it a 6. When the casinos were popping and the weather is nice, you can hit the beach...city is an 8.

When the weather is shyt and there is nothing there but abandoned casinos and crackheads...It's a 4.

So in between, I give a 6.

EDIT: Changed to a 5. Mainly off of nostalgia. It's really a high 3 or low 4.

I went on a bus party from Brooklyn to AC and we ended up in Harrahs in AC at some club where you dance in the water and it was a ghost town.

The Pool used to be the shyt back in the mid to late aughts. Haven't been but I imagine it's a disaster now because no one comes to the city.

Ya'll did Atlantic City of all places...
:dead:

I'll give it a 5 off memories alone.
It was a lot better in the 90's / early 2000's.... a lot of good shyt closed. Im still mad they closed House of Blues, they had the best concerts there... smh

I got aunts and uncles with gambling problems, so I've been there more times than I can count... Then when I got older in HS, it was the place to go and get fly and take a girl out to.
45 mins from Philly, so it's a quick trip.

They still have a lot of parties there, but its mostly older black crowd who still fukk with AC like that...

Its got casinos and a boardwalk and a beach....
the beach is below average

Other than that, the city is a dump and full of drugs and violence...

This is my exact feelings towards it.

I'm from Philly so I had cousins, aunts, uncles that would go and get their gamble on in the 90's.

I would go and party there in the 00's because it was only a 75 minute drive from Philly and I could get cheap Telly's and have a decent weekend with only $2-300.

The NJIT doesn’t go directly to AC? I ain’t got time now but imma check the NJIT map.

I think last time I saw it the NJIT in AC instead of going to NYC it just travels across Jersey right?
That NJIT line goes through Princeton Junction, Plainsboro, Trenton but I don't remember any direct lines to AC.

Jersey City should not be under NYC lol

Make a Newark and/or Jersey City thread
We were trying to be nice. Jersey City is not that big in the scheme of things, it's like a 6 -8 min water taxi or ferry away from Manhattan. not big enough to have a whole separate thread. Besides Pavonia Newport, the Science Museum and Liberty State Park - there's not much to discuss bc all the JC people that I know come to the city.

Seems like as good a place to ask as any. Might be spending a few days here next month. Any solid bars and/or strip clubs anybody recommend? No :mjpls:
