If I been to Jozi, is it the same protocol for Lagos? Should you rent a car or Uber everywhere?

Uber without a doubt. As a foreigner, I'd rent in Jozi before renting in Lagos.

Honestly, next time I go to Jozi I might get a rental as well. Ubers are cheap but they add up quick since the city is so spread out. At least with Lagos once your on Lagos Island proper there's no need to leave.

Only thing about Jozi and rentals are the high rates of carjackings. Might be a thing where you drive during the day but Uber at night

taxify cheaper than uber in lagos both are dirt cheap

like i went from my hotel to the airport a good like a good 20 miles and i paid like 5,000 naira

plus being stuck in lagos traffic will have you insane, at least with a uber many times i was just like im gone end the trip and walked the rest of the way

I gave the city a 10 because it’s like Africa’s very own Sillicon Valley since a ton of tech companies are pouring investments into the city and it has the potential to compete with other tech hubs such as Tokyo, Berlin, Shanghai, Singapore and San Francisco. The only downside is the corrupt government and poor transportation.

The bolded is where you messed up. If you're going to Lagos for fun, just stay on the island. Leave the mainland (out of Ikeja) for those who know.

But I'll say this, the mainland does serve a very important purpose. There are times I prefer it to the Island. Being able to navigate both is crucial.
