Tampa is very dope, has a combination of southern florida meeting the culture of SOFL. The area has seen an boom since the early 2000's and Bill Gates and the owner of the NHL team down there are dumping money into it. The Tampa Bay area (Sarasota, Clearwater, Tampa, maybe even Bradenton) is very encompassing. Tech and medical jobs are popping up and it's right in the middle of everything Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, etc.

I heard about the Tech boom down there. You think a breh with an A+ cert will be able to find work down there easily? I have family in Ft Meyers which is not too far from Tampa and I thought about relocating there if I ever became really desperate enough for a IT job.

I've heard good things about Tampa and that area. Looks like 70% of the population is under 55 so its not all old folks. I think prolly West Palm Beach has the most seniors. Hillsborough is 4th in population behind the 3 south florida counties so I'm sure there are plenty of young people. The housing is much cheaper there as well. If I ever get the opportunity I wouldn't mind moving there. Good weather, has nice beaches, a few hours from family and friends, not far from Orlando plus plenty to do within the city as well. And has 3 of the 4 major sports teams. Plus the areas been growing lately these past few years and may continue to do so, but the cost hasn't really been going up too crazy.. I'll be going up there in early April hopefully. So I should get a better feel for the city then.

I don't know if Fort Myers may have much opportunity but the area is nice. I'm sure more opportunities will pop up as the entire area grows. Speaking of which, I gotta hurry up and get my A+ myself atleast.

Make sure that you try to network with people that's already in the IT field so you can have a job lined up by the time you get it. The biggest mistake I made was not connecting with the right people and now I can't find a job without having 2 to 3 years of experience. :francis:
