I think there’s a massive difference between Philly and New York.

They should never be compared IMO

Philly is a great American city; compare Philly with Baltimore Boston Pittsburgh Atlanta Dallas New Orleans Detroit Denver Charlotte

New York is a great GLOBAL city; compare NYC with London Tokyo Paris Singapore Toronto and Dubai maybe

NYC is literally 10x the size of Philadelphia and 10x the population, America’s model mega city and global capital.

Philly has the opportunity to be a great global city, but more investment in infrastructure is needed...and of course, we need more corporations to stay to offer higher paying jobs and more opportunities outside of healthcare

Bump this.

Headed to Philly for the first time for the Roots festival. I heard people saying there's no nightlife or lounges, is that still the same?

I have some food places listed but any more recommendations would be welcome.

Any other stuff to do? I'm already gonna go to the Mitchell & Ness shop, cop some Muslim oils and get cheesesteak

Get a cheesesteak from Angelo's, John's, Cafe Carmela or Jim's on South St

This is the Roots Picnic Afterparty: Kiss N Grind: Roots Picnic Afterparty (21+ Event)

Olde City, Fishtown, Northern Liberties, South St & Manayunk should all be crankin' outside...

Been to downtown Philly a few times. Visited the museums and caught a Sixers games. Ate a bunch of Sushi Burritos at the Hai Street Kitchen (RIP). :banderas:
As a place to visit, I rank it pretty high. I can't say what its like to live there. Maybe King of Prussia is be a better place to raise a family?

That's a shame. Center City
Downtown will have plenty to do.

I don't live there anymore, but I'm in town about 4 times a year. My favorite spot is Ashton Cigar Lounge.

How old are you, I can still list a few places that you might like.

I would grab a cheesesteak from Ishkibbles on South Street.

Agreed on Ashton, classy spot, I only take classy broads through there

Time on Sansom St is pretty nice too, and the live music is a nice touch

What's y'all budget? Y'all want to club, drink, chill, talk, people watch?

Guaranteed, downtown will have everything you want to do in walking distance or a 10 minute taxi/Uber ride.
We're flexible. Arrive Saturday morning and leaving that Monday. Definitely, drink and chill if possible and see some sights maybe
