The good stuff that make it an 8?

One of the best food cities in this country, very nice architecture, lots of history, geechi and Gullah black folks and the nice looking and friendly people.

One of the cities I’m trying to visit every year if I get a chance too.

I always knew that the city had a huge racist past but I didn’t know that they pushed out the majority of the Blacks from the area. These cac’s have no shame.

Btw I didn’t feel this racist vibe when I was in Charleston. City seemed very liberal for a southern city especially in SC.

All the hillbilly vibes I got were from all the areas outside the Charleston region.

You right about the hillbilly part. South Carolina in general is country as fukk outside of Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Columbia. I remember driving through a town out there that looked like something out of the 1850’s.

I can see why you’re saying it’s “boring”. It isn’t some place I’d recommend first or make a priority to visit, but it was nice. I’m a fan of visiting larger metropolitan areas myself.

fukk Charleston proper. I went there this summer for a long weekend. Great restaurants, nice downtown area and neighborhoods but......

Immediately shocked by the lack of melanin. I met someone who gave me the run down.

They essentially pushed all the black people out of the city on some extreme gentrification shyt over the last 20-30 years.
Almost all the brothers live outside of Charleston.

Now they trying to white wash the fact that they were a major port of entry for the slave trade.

Wouldn’t want to live somewhere without some presence of my people.

The city of Charleston is 22% black, 72% white...

The blackness is still above national average, but the lack of diversity and overbearing whiteness would be a problem to me...

I never been, but my daughters mom swears by it. Been almost everywhere else in SC besides Charleston, ironically...
