I'm going to give them a 6.

I'm not big on listening to men sing to me unless it's in a hip-hop song, which is why I'm going to rate them based off what I've heard with Pac, Gang Starr etc..

Plus I just don't think they were THAT great during the 90s no doubt they're good...but like I said I'm not into boy groups singing to me so that could be why .

I gave them a 7 (which is considered great). Has nothing to do with their talent, but their output. They had what? Three albums? Some classic songs on them, but were the albums really classic? I’m reserving my 10 for groups like The Temptations, Jackson 5, etc.

had to take off points due to them looking and sounding like dope fiends currently. it they had maintain that 90s ability longer i would've given them a 9.

MC Hammer stanfans are in no position to judge Jodeci, this was your childhood legend
you couldn't wait to get home and watch a Hammer video after school, dance in your Hammer pants and play with your Hammer collectibles.

Normally I'd take issue with a group if only 1 or 2 people do all the singing, but since the non-singers handled production, I can overlook it. The production is part of what makes them great actually. My only issue with them is the singers didn't take care of their voices. Their run was too short compared to other singers. Their music is legendary, but it's unfortunate that they can't perform it live at such a relatively young age.

My only issue is your slander and it's unfortunate you had to be the recipient of this neg

I freely admit my biases here :hubie:

The whole tough guy thing in R&B to me is laughable, so Jodeci's entire image made me mentally filter them out. I get that the appeal is for women; I just never bothered to investigate them any deeper. Same thing with Chris Brown, or any number of other artists/groups who might actually have some talent but want to play Tupac roles. It just gets filtered out. I don't want to get all off topic in your thread here because it'd lead to a whole other discussion about what should be "good" R&B, and I know that will go all over the place.

I was wrong about the radio part before too. Some women in the mix loved being romanced to Jodeci albums, now that I'm thinking about it they probably provided a tempo to a good chunk of lovin' sessions. :patrice:
