They were before my time, I never was exposed to their music growing up, but I listened to the songs in the OP and picked up all those melodies sampled by songs from the 90s

I put them as elite. They got hella hit songs. Legendary is reserved for the MJ's princes and Stevie's.

6. Just not as familiar with them. I do like switch but as far as this group goes I know a few songs, but don’t know much about them. Nothing remarkable about them to me.

I count switch as debarge personally since there's so much of the same personnel.

Damn where do I start lol... I gave them a 7 but they definitely had potential to be a 10. Individually they all were phenomenal singers. All of them wrote and produced but they weren't that good at making mid-tempo and up tempo during their peak. All of their classic songs are ballads except for "I like it" which Bunny Randy and El wrote and "Rythm of the night " which Diane Warren wrote. All this love and In a Special Way are good albums but none are classics. I also think if they were on a different label at the time they would have been bigger no offense to Motown but Barry had shut down the assembly line and the train had stopped by that point. One of the biggest what ifs in music history.

I gave them a 9. Elite. Vocally other groups will be better, but Debarge has had a HUGE musical impact as far as their sound goes and they've been sampled to death. I love their catalog. "I Like It" and " A Dream" are two of my favorite all time R&B songs easily. I might be biased on this one.
