Space is the Place
Yesterday we looked at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and gave them an average rating of 6.7.
Today we cover a small HBCU, less than 800 students, but with a lot of history. Rust College, originally Shaw University, was one of the first HBCUs established by Methodists and the Freedman's Aid Society in 1867. It is also one of the oldest colleges in Mississippi. In the small town of Holly Springs, it has produced most prominently, Ida B Wells. While it is small it has made major moves and retained top leadership to help cement its future.
In 2020, it hired former San Antonio mayor, , as its president and has tripled its endowment in the last three years.
