Yesterday we toured St. Augustine's University in Raleigh which obtained an average score of 6.5.

Today we turn to another land grant HBCU and only one of two public universities in Texas. Prairie View A&M University (abbreviated PVAMU) was founded in 1876 as a shrewd addition to the 1876 Texas constitution, right before the end of Reconstruction, by two former slave legislators (State Senator Matthew Gaines and State Rep William Holland) to create and Agricultural & Mechanical university for Blacks. It continued to receive funding with the federal land grant funds and has expanded tremendously. It is now the third largest majority Black HBCU behind NC A&T and Howard.

PVAMU, has a lot going for it. One impressive fact is per Department of Education data, PVAMU has some of the highest graduate salaries amongst all HBCUs in engineering and nursing. In fact, across HBCUs known for engineering, only Howard is higher for computer science grads. Its new engineering and fabrication buildings are a testament to this focus. Therefore not only does it have a nice campus and a large, fun student body, its graduates do well. PVAMU is less well-known, especially in the east, than the other big HBCUs but is definitely worth a look.

There was a time frame they were ass in sports, but their school is top notch, and plenty of baddies on campus, i heard it’s pretty much in the middle of no where
Kinda sorta. Once you get on 290, it seems you passing the grand parkway interchange in 15 minutes and then Cypress begins.
