As an alumni of the school (graduated in 2020), been in the marching band and even participated in history for performing at HONDA BOTB, I have countless great memories and hard lessons being there which shaped me to the man I am today. My score? I gave it a 7, and I'll explain why. This school, like many others, has a lot of skeletons in their closet. From rape scandals from the Ques (His frat), to money going "missing", horrible dorm living spaces and rotten food, I can say the administration by Harvey could had done a lot more for their students. Resources were barely accountable and available and the school is just too damn expensive. Hampton now does have a new president that seems to actually care and do more for its students, so I have high hopes for change. All in all, Hampton is a beautiful institution that has a lot of power in terms of looking for a great career, I met one of my recruiters there that gave me the career I have now and i'm getting paid 80k and i'm only 25 in DC. Most of my friends are making good money as well. If I had any advice for people who wishes to come here, PLEASE make sure you keeping track of your tuition and imo, only come here if you want to be a journalist or criminal justice. Heard many horror stories from pre-med majors that make me shudder. @DrBanneker :salute: for the hbcu series

oh and I forgot to add: the women are the BADDEST joints I've seen in my life and they are in abundance :lawd: especially homecoming
Homecoming is the craziest breh….so many bad ass bytches!!

Your story is like most folks that go to hbcu, it’s nothing like them, yet it’s nothing like them ( the headaches) from admins that rub the student body wrong to stealing, but you always have pride in your school regardless

I’ve heard many good stories of it, I’m sure being in the dmv they will have you plugged in around there, and I’m sure it holds a certain connotation graduating from their amongst the black elite, the women i met from there are cute af too

Kind of expensive, which i have a problem with, i get it, we gotta make money, but going to an hbcu should not put you in deep debt

Yea we had those issues to when I was there. Cafeteria food was nasty outside of breakfast.

Dorms weren't the best. I stayed in Harkness freshman year. Atleast we had AC unlike James.

Moved to the Harbors junior year.

Beautiful campus. Bad girls everywhere.

Once you graduate and tap into the alumni base you'll realize what the degree will do for you.

You're in a good city living in DC. So many hampton alum live in the DMV.

I live in Atlanta and I've met everyone from lawyers medical professionals architects teachers who graduated from hampton

Yea it wasn’t on no disrespect shyt cause it’s a lot of good small bands. Y’all were kinda unknown to Atlanta tho lol

Them band road trips something else..whenever we stayed overnight somewhere some fukkery happened. I can only imagine what y’all did in a big city like Atlanta staying near all the other bands who were there

Have y’all ever played a SWAC school while you marched?

I always wondered how small bands feel when they sit across from a 240 piece SWAC band.
We were damn near 300 deep when I marched in 08 at Bama State. Gave nikkas the blues all season :banderas:

Seems like their pharmacy program lost accreditation...and they were the only school that year to do so. It must have been bad.

And they sued......and lost in November

Luckily the class of 2023 is still ok and will get a credible diploma but kids that came in 2020 for the class of 2024 for pharmacy are screwed.

Never been, but I’ve heard a lot of good things. My little cousin just recently graduated from there, and he bigs it up every chance he gets.

It’s a beautiful campus. Sitting right there on the coast :youngsabo:
