Great idea for a series. Only thing I'd add is alumni engagement/giving rates as part of the criteria.
on the whole HBCU grads give back more to their schools than PWI grads. this is a recent post from a Sister on the Onnidan board who’s posted in-depth stats in the past.

“There’s ignorance, and there’s stupidity, and then there’s this, which is wanton disinterest in the truth or anything like it.

The national average among public regional universities for alumni giving is 5%. So hbcu alumni giving outpaces PWIs in the sector. Even among graduates who carry more debt AND have substantially lower net worths, they’re more generous.

****PSA This is my LAST post on this subject. Folks jumping on a subject and don’t have the range to discuss”

Thanks, but if the series is titled "Rate this HBCU", how would pwi alumni giving rates even factor into the discussion?

True. But honestly how could we rate HBCU’s when most of the board doesn’t have any familiarity with one?
