it's a good song and I've grown to like it more but I definitely remember on SOHH and AHH disappointment. Jay teased a proper 'black album' with no promotion, just pure hip hop, so obviously the type of hip hop fans online at the time were hyped. Then Change Clothes dropped, then there were more leaks and you realised it wasn't the album people hoped for

It's still a great album. But Jay definitely created expectations of something else

I like the song just not in that context. we all expected grimey bangers from the innitial list of producers.

we got a regular hov single followed by a good album but it was basically supposed to be what Magic was to Nas. A straight bar showcase. The Black album is one of Hov best but it strayed from it's concept entirely.

.As for 'The Black Album', being close to Jay's best...I don't see it, it's a solid piece of work, and good selection of songs....but, it's unfocused, and all over the place production and theme wise, it crosses back and forth between a legacy album and a 'Reasonable Doubt' type one...the production is too contrasting,

listening back to the album now and the album's production really is all over the place

only song that still hits and mostly because of the beat is PSA but Black Moon did it better
