Wilt was on some good teams and played with hall of famers like Paul Arizin Hal Greer Chet Walker Elgin Baylor and Jerry West. And I guess he that is the reason why he gets criticized because he only got the two rings surrounded with talent like that. But two rings is nothing to scoff at when a lot of great players don't have any.

Saying Wilt had "HOF'ers like Paul Arizin/Elgin Baylor" is like saying Lebron had "HOF'ers like Shaq in Cleveland and couldn't win"

Those guys were :flabbynsick: when they were lucky enough to have Wilt on their team. The timing was off.

He was in his 30's by then and they won a ring in LA.
Philly had a couple of good players but Hal Greer wasn't quite prime Elgin or even Hondo.

Wilt never pursued this but he had his 40 yard dash timed at age 27, at a weight of 290lbs, and he wasn't wearing any shoes - and was wearing dress pants...

He clocked a 4.6... That's what the "only" 260lb "freak athlete" Lebron just clocked this past summer. And I'd bet money Lebron wasn't barefoot wearing dress pants.

:wow: And that 4.6 ain't with lasers and sh*t like they do now. It could have easily been a 4.3-4.4 :bryan:

Wilt would be the best player in any era because he is the best player we have ever had play the sport. That's not going to change until someone has another 7 foot superhuman as their son.

If you ask Wilt, he will tell you he would score 75PPG in the 90's. I remember laughing then thinking :lupe: He could possibly do it. Wilt was much bigger than any center in the 90's outside of Shaq and was a much better athlete than everyone in the 90's.

Nikka average 50 ppg for a season. I don't care if you're playing against 3 year olds, that's still ridiculous. Shaq averaged 37 ppg with no jumper. Wilt probably watching 90's basketball like :takedat: :steviej: I would have had these nikkaz for brunch then go f*ck 10 b*tches without breakin' a sweat

Hate to discredit Bill Russell and say he was overrated like I have in other threads and then say Wilt would dominate any era but I truly believe that. He was just too big and athletic and too strong not to be an impact player at any point and time in NBA history. He would be 25 and 15 minimum in this era. He played so many minutes at his size so he had to have been in supreme shape year in and year out which would be a testament to his work ethic. Which I think people don't give him enough credit for because he "only" has two rings. He changed his game up midway through his career and was on two of the greatest teams ever as a result. I wish Wilt could have got a couple more rings so he could be looked at in reverence like Bill is instead of just seen as dominating a "bunch of 6'5 white boys" when Wilt played against centers like Nate Thurmond Willis Reed a young Artis Gilmore and a young KAJ.

Nikkaz act like George Mikan wouldn't come out and dominate these b*tch azz nikkaz today :heh: Nikka 35+ givin KAJ trouble. People keep talkin' about white boys like Ginobili didn't shred the most athletic defense in the L in game 4. Give credit were it's due :obama:

Arizin and Baylor were still balling when they were with Wilt especially Arizin whose numbers were great up until he retired. Even Elgin was still getting 24 a game there first couple of seasons not to mention having Jerry West too. I think Wilt is the second greatest ever but I can see why people think he should have won more. Fair or not.

He was playing in the NBA before they had real athletes. Stop it.

Most of the HOF is from that era and the athletes like Bellamy, Mikan, Pettit, Russell, West, and Big O was freakish. You can't be serious right? We don't even have someone in the NBA outside of Kobe who is as skilled as Rick Berry. Ya'll be sleeping on the 60's. The greatest era outside of the 80's and today's NBA. It's funny how ya'll constantly overrate the 90's when it was on par with the 70's who was fighting with the ABA for players.

:comeon: The better question would be how old are you and how much Basketball do you even watch of players from the past years? Because if you even think guys like MJ could hang with Wilt or Bill, you are smoking some of the best California reefer known to man.

Baylor and Wilt were only healthy together for 1 season, 1969 - the people who just skim rosters on bball reference and try to point out Wilt's teammates often have no context. There are 1 or 2 seasons out of Wilt's entire career that he didn't win titles that I thought he COULD have won them. The rest of the seasons people just aren't aware who was actually on the floor with Wilt when it counted and how helpful they actually were.
