Squad AI was bad without mods. Enemy AI used to be John Wick. I don't know about now as I haven't played it in about a year.

It’s not that difficult. You just have to play it like an actual police SWAT operator. It’s made with deliberate (yet violent) clearing in mind, the second you start hasty clearing the game crunches you.

Breach with violence of action, remember to cover the way you just came, plan your next entry, use the path of least resistance, carefully pie off your corners and doorways, then boot/bullet to ass…. Then let the city lawyers handle the rest.

My only complaint is the took away the ability to play as whatever member you wanted to use. Now you’re stuck playing as the middle age cac dude unless it’s multiplayer.

Edit: and DON’T chase suspects. When you and your team react to contact, return fire, and a suspect runs away just keep clearing until you run into them again. They will lead you into traps, ambushes, or blind/tricky corners and kill you.
