I will say, y’all had me fooled for a while.

Hear me out for a bit:

The majority of my friends are white and they are almost never asked for the number of guys they’ve slept with (they date white men 9/10). My best friend has passed 150 easily. But because our friend group is 60% black men, they DO sometimes get asked if they’ve been with a black guy. Why? Well, because of the stereotype, of course. If they’ve been with a black man, that MUST mean the white guy can’t compete. And that’s a double edged sword.

Without fail, anytime a non black guy approaches me- be it white, non-black Hispanic, asian- before the night is over he asks if my past boyfriends were black. The point of all this isn’t particularly about race, but how a lot of guys connect self esteem to how good they are in bed.

Increase the pool of sexual partners, the less likely you are to measure up. That’s for all men. But if a large part of your identity is societally connected to your sexual prowess- you’re gonna have these body count problems.

Now, in my opinion a high body count in women is indicative of low standards, which is worse than the whole Madonna/Whore complex. There just aren’t that many guys around that I’d want to sleep with in terms of looks, status etc. etc.
