No shade, but if Drake is from the 6 and that's where he grew up...

Why did he just start talking about it the last few years?

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't really remember him talking about it alot on So Far Gone, Thank Me Later, or Take Care...

I remember a few mentions on Nothing was the same, but he was reppin it hard on the latest mixtape/album

It just seemed odd he would start reppin his section so deep in his career when he barely mentioned it early on.

Am I the only one who noticed this?

It's because people are even ghostwriting his upbringing.

"While some listeners noticed a slight change in Drake’s content after the release of Take Care, Mike says that Drake tapping from talent dates as far back as the period when he was recording his breakthrough mixtape, So Far Gone, particularly the song that made jump-started his career. “This started from ‘Best I Ever Had’…’Get it from the back until you fukking bra strap pop’ was written by Young Tony [aka Hush]. This was mentioned to my people by his ex manager T-Slack.

Mike also brings up the screen shot Media Takeout posted in 2010 of Drake DM’ing his writer (Hush aka Young Tony) that he needs the session, further evidence that Drake’s alleged usage of ghostwriters and additional pens is nothing new.

As far as his reasons for speaking up now, he says since the avalanche of evidence could be pouring out any day, he felt the need to set the record straight for the sake of the fans that may be confused or unsure of the situation. “Everyone knows these [are] facts here. There is a revisionist history that is taking place and it isn’t right.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Regardless of where fans may fall on how using a ghostwriter affects your credibility, it looks like Drake has taken a page out of Kanye West’s book and expanded his creative process to include various hands in the mix and it seems to be working wonders for his career, given the fact that’s he’s hip-hop’s brightest shining star at this moment in time. Oh yeah, and according to Mike, The 6ix that Drake is frequently running through was actually a term allegedly created by a Canadian named by the name of Jimmy Johnson. “Jimmy Johnson aka Jimmy Prime, he came up with the phrase “The 6ix”. It was to be the name of his album…Drake took it without telling him. His crew is called Prime and they are affiliated with OVO.” When asked if Jimmy Prime would confirm this claim, Mike admits he doubts he would given his status in the OVO circle would be at stake, but says that Drake’s appropriation of the term is no secret to those close to the situation."

He has definitely always repped Toronto so I'm not trying to say he hasn't.....

It's just weird that all of the sudden he is all about the 6 now when he hardly ever mentioned it for years. Did they just start calling it that?

I mean putting a nikka on retainer to write your raps is one thing.

Lifting album titles and catch phrases from your underlings without permission and holding your fame over their head to keep them quiet about it is another. You're going beyond being a fraud and actually doing harm to other artists.

Jimmy started calling it that in late 2013/early 2014. Drake caught on to it and started using it around March 2014.

Here's a vid of him using it and saying "now we're known as the 6, shout out to Jimmy Prime, he named the city"

And in the caption of this IG post he put "I miss the 6!!! #Toronto #JimmyPrimeNamedIt #The6 #Home #SummerInToronto #Paradise"

Both of these are from March, and I don't think he's said anything about Jimmy since then. He pretty much just took Jimmy's shyt and ran with it. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he started talking about it more just cuz he finally has a nickname for it :mjlol:

Because he fake as fukk. He came in the game biting drawls and accents from southern rappers so he could break into the american rap market. He didn't even TALK like a toronto native let alone rap like one. Now he running around sounding like a white boy from idaho doing his worst jamaican accent :mjlol:

Fakest nikka the game has EVER seen :snoop:
