I would argue that the Rue situation is different...they literally were mad ONLY because she was cast as a black girl which didn't match the version in their heads from reading the books.

Lucas was kind of a prick in season 1. But he was that way for a good reason. He didn't accept 11 with open arms, he was skeptical of shyt the way an actual black person would be in the situation

He be going hard in the paint for his homies, sometimes that requires him to be a bit more harsh than the other cats.
