my nikka Swizzy was orginal and had his own style. fukk OP...

His shyt connected and sold records for a reason.

He had his wave because he's a good PRODUCER. Perhaps not the best BEATMAKER... but he knows how to create a sound for an artist and get the party hype or get the streets live. Thats really all that matters.

Duke is smart...thats why. Swizz didnt burn any bridges with the wrong people, and he's maintained relationships with the right ones....being a likable person who knows how to effectively network within the industry is most of the battle.

His overall body of work is terrible, but if I were to liken Swizz to sports, he's that guy that always has a big year during contract time, but hes decidedly average during the interim. His career patterns suggest that he's able to produce a monster just when you think he's about to become irrelevant.

His relationship with AKeys didnt hurt, and was clearly in some ways strategic for the both of them. They were able to establish themselves as a power couple, and a brand, which again helped raise their profile (probably more so swizz than Keys since she was one of the biggest stars at the time) and relevancy.

cats seem to get IDAHIH & FOMF mixed up. Swizzy did ONE beat on It's Dark and he gets credit as if he did a lot but FOMF is a big step down quality wise and Swizz did lots of beats on that album.

He has some heat, but he has this impeccable knack to ruin a song anytime he writes the hooks. Seriously. Dude has some of the worst hooks of all time. How can you be consistently so at writing hooks?? How does he get away with it??

This is basically it. Dude has hit records sure, but nothing on the level of a Pharrell or Timbo, yet he maintains the status of a super-producer like they do. Its all networking and good business sense. He's basically a "Jay-Z enthusiast" at this point
