Some of you dudes acting like Jay is your father and owes you something :what:

OP is getting way too emotional over an entertainer.

How can you hate on a n1gga giving away free music? Especially when we weren't gonna buy it anyway...

I hate on Jay like I breath oxygen but at this point in time this album is needed...It's already June and we don't have a quality album release from anyone yet...These young dudes don't have what it takes to carry the torch.. Kanye just dropped an abomination to the culture thats gonna set Black people back 40 years..Drake is making anthems for my 10 year old daughter and her cheerleading friends.. J Cole is what what thought he would be...Wale will probably be more of the same..2 Chainz is entertaining but he can't spit anymore...Cac rap is taking over at a rapid pace...Until Nas or Ross drop there is nobody in the mainstream worth looking forward to imo...

This dude Jay has been making "event" albums since Vol. 2 in '98 when he first threatened to retire....That's his gimmick...I'm impressed that he's been able to find new ways to repackage the same content for almost 2 decades and keep people excited..Him and his team have a grip on the desires of the masses...

Hopefully he gets back to that AG level of lyricism for this project...If not then I'll be critical like everyone else.. But I don't have any problem with his timing or the way he's using corporate America to be the vehicle for his work..It's progressive and smart..

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
He said it himself: He ain't a businessman, he's a business, man. Jay been about making money. He's celebrated and crucified for that.

There's plenty more who rap the same kind of shyt, it's just Jay gets the hate because he's been one of the top two or three at making money off rap.

At the end of the day, I don't think the criticism is unfair because fukk a corporation. I just want the nikka to make good art that isn't exclusively steeped in materialism and bullshyt.

So we just gon forget that major labels are corporations? The same corporations that most of you dudes want to back your favorite artists?

Like one dude said, you want him to limit his success just because you think he should limit himself. :rudy:

Who the fukk stops grinding cause one dude thinks he should let others eat? He's not stopping anybody from doing what they do.

Now I saw that commercial and that shyt was corny to me. I, for one, won't be copping a new phone or app for that album. And I most certainly won't be copping that album period because I'm not a Jay-Z fan. I can't rock with him ever. The stannery on this board knows no bounds though and that post ending just screamed "TALK TO J COLE"

if the music is good:blessed:

if not, fukk em. you nikkas sound like bytches crying about his business model. buy the music, or bootleg it like most of you nikkas do or don't listen. Jay-z has found avenues to generate revenue and i can't knock it, ill only complain i the music is whack

How is Jay hurting the culture any more than 99% of mainstream rappers spitting nothing but ignorance? Hip hop's already been abused and b*stardized by corporations and record labels at least on the mainstream level. At least Jay's out there dictating for himself. He ain't having the record labels telling him what to put out and what to do he doing it for himself. So what if hes teaming with Samsung? Moves like that show hes thinking about the next level and pushing the envelope for what future rappers can achieve.

And thats coming from a Nas stan...but I respect the hustle
