This Chief Keef situation is really exposing a lot (not all, but a lot) of the old heads. they constantly complained about how "soft" the new generation is yet now that Keef is proving to really be about that life they're switching up to " this new generation is way too ignorant"

ya'll wanted a return to rappers being "hard" well these are the consequences...

yea but keef fukkin blows. g shyt where dudes are actually spittin :smugfavre:

when rappers had street cred the quality of the game was better

It honestly never went anywhere in the first place...just because 50 Cent fell off and a handful of decidedly non-gangsta rappers blew up, doesn't mean gangsta rap ever disappeared or anything

Freddie Gibbs and Chief Keef aren't the same type of rapper though, although their content is considered to be "gangsta" (or is Keef 'trap'? :leon:)

One is a much more superior MC and overall artist with actual subject matter and provides social commentary of inner cities while the other perpetuates and glorifies everything that is wrong with the hood.

"I got nikkas that'll rob and rape your bytch if they in the mood" - Gibbs

Is this not glorifying?:usure:

I don't know man. If we had social media and internet as good in the 90's some of these dudes would have been getting exposed daily:birdman:

Growing up on the west in the 90s, yes if anything just for nostalgia...but I'm sure plenty of these dudes will just compare and complain "but _______ ain't like cube, easy, etc":noah: instead of just enjoy the new music.
