Hmm this has always been kinda hard to explain for me. A lot of my favorite beats are jazzy or soulful (and I've even gotten into both although I've heard more soul). For the lyrics I like guys that can do a good battle rap, can tell nice stories, quotable are cool too but that's not all.

It must be a taste thing. I generally want to enjoy 90's hip-hop like everyone else online, but I can't. I don't connect with it like I do a Kendrick Lamar album or a J.Cole album. My favourite artists all-time are Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Logic, and Kanye.
